The Ruthless, Weirdo Peacemaker -- Ra's Al Ghul

THE DEMON'S HEAD - its the literal translation in Arabic of the name of one of the most feared super villain in the DC Universe - Ra's Al Ghul. Being more than 600 years old , only his name is enough to strike fears in the hearts of his enemies. 'A world is a better and peaceful place if it has no population' is the ideology of the guy who killed his first victim when he was only 11. As per the Arrow S03E09, Ra's Al Ghul felt pride in doing so. Now that is some scary pride a man's got.

Skilled in many forms of martial arts such as ninjitsu, jujitsu, etc. the guy is a complete criminal mastermind and is the one who trained Batman, thats an irony as Batman killed him in the DC Comics series BATMAN : DEMONS AND MAIDENS, because the former planned to dismantle the Gotham City. However , being a stubborn son of bitch who doesn't die easily, the 'peacemaker' returns to life in BATMAN : RESURRECTION OF RA'S AL GHUL.

But, saying that Ra's and Batman are pure enemies would not be correct, their relationship is somewhat like the relationship option in facebook - 'its complicated'

Ra's trained batman, taught him the science of strategic thinking, they both have mutual respect for each other as Ra's never refer to him as the Batman , but as detective for the latter's excellent deduction techniques, plus Ra's the grandfather of Damian Wayne, the child of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Ra's.
Strange, right? Told ya, its complicated.

Ra's have appeared in lot of other storylines, not just in Batman, but also in Superman and The Green Arrow.

Being more than six hundred years old, Ra's has had to revive his energy a lot of times for the preparation of combat, by the use of Lazarus Pit, reservoirs of rejuvenating chemicals that restore the dead and dying to life, these pits have granted him a lifespan of several centuries.


Abilities of Ra's Al Ghul:

• Genius-Level Intellect: Ra's possesses a genius level intellect with aptitudes in a wide variety of sciences and medicine, particularly in the field of alchemy.
• Leadership: He is the indisputable leader of the League of Assassins, one of the largest and most dangerous organizations of all time, whose agents are willing to sacrifice themselves for their master.
• Master Strategist and Tactician: He is a brilliant tactician, planning his exploits many months even years in advance.
• Master Swordsman
• Master Martial Artist: expertise in at least 100 different fighting styles.
• Medical Science
• Multi-Lingual: He's able to speak Arabic, French, Greek, Latin, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin, Urdu, multiple Indian languages and possibly more.
• Vast Resources: Over the centuries, Ra's has gained many international contacts and a vast fortune.

• Weapon Master: He has more than two centuries of experience using old and modern weapons. When in combat he favors the old-world weapons such as katana, European swords, polearms, and axes.  

So , summarizing it , it would be safe to say that both the worlds, the DC Universe and the world as we know it are better of without the guys like Ra's Al Ghul.

But yea, he does add the element of surprise and increases the excitement level but trying to screw this superheroes life!!
